Denise Boyle
Sr. Denise Boyle, FMDM, is an Irish Franciscan sister who is the Director of the Global Action Programme of Mercy International Association, in Dublin, Ireland. Prior to commencing her work with the Mercy Family in June 2013, Denise worked overseas in Australia, Zimbabwe and Geneva. Initially her ministry was as in education, till in 1992 she moved full time into education in human rights and advocacy, focussing on women and children's rights. Her work in Geneva with Franciscans International introduced her to the U.N. system, specifically the Human Rights Council and related bodies. Currently Global Action is focussed on addressing systemic injustice by identifying root causes of their two major justice areas: cosmology and eco-justice and opposing human trafficking or modern slavery. Our collective ministry is underpinned by a rights based approach, with special emphasis on eradicating poverty combined with a particular concern for women and children.
