Prisca Ovat

Prisca Ovat is a trained nurse and a Medical Missionary of Mary sister from Nigeria who made her final vows in 2017. She went to Kenya on a mission in 2013, then worked in South Sudan before returning to Kenya where she currently ministers as outreach coordinator for the sisters' ministries in child and vulnerable adult safeguarding, human trafficking, climate change, and health care. She works in the slums, among people who have lived with HIV/AIDS for many years.

Sister Sr. Liana de Jesus, with one of her students, has designed a child-friendly corner within one of the health facilities of Medical Missionaries of Mary. She engages youth and teenage single mothers in skills training. As part of their healing charism, Sr. Prisca Ovat coordinates the medical outreach program for people living in slums.
