Tisy Jose

Tisy Jose is from India, and is a member of the Ursuline Sisters of Mary Immaculate Congregation in Italy. She is an educator and a journalist, and has been a missionary for 55 years. After completing her studies in journalism, she served as the assistant editor to the national views weekly Indian Currents in Delhi. She has worked in interreligious dialogue with professors from Benaras Hindu University, served as the assistant executive secretary on the Commission of Dialogue and Ecumenism, and written extensively on social and religious/spiritual issues.

Live and help live: Ursuline educators act to stem India's student suicide trend

Driven by the issue of student suicides in India, we educators of Ursuline schools and colleges drew up a plan for life-boosting practices and for teaching — with the help of students and parents — that life is sacred.

Advent: A different kind of joy ride

In the Advent journey toward Bethlehem, I hit the road with a group of students — the Ambassadors of Hope — to drive home for them the messages: "Giving is better than receiving" and "Earth is our common home."
