Our presenter, Sr. Mary Elizabeth Imler, has been Vice President of Mission Integration at the University of St. Francis, Joliet, Illinois, for the past thirteen years. Besides her “day job” she is on staff for the Franciscan Pilgrimage Program and lectures widely as a Franciscan scholar and facilitator. Her educational background began at St. Mary’s College/Notre Dame University with majors in Physics/Chemistry/Secondary Education and continued in a Master of Science of the same at Indiana-Purdue University at Fort Wayne. Spiritual development was enhanced by coursework through Retreats International and Ignatius College in Guelph, Ontario. She completed a Master of Arts at the International Franciscan Institute at St. Bonaventure University, New York, in the summer of 1999. Her thesis was printed in 2002: A Franciscan Solitude Experience and the Pilgrim’s Journal. Her most recent publication was "Authentic Servant Leadership Out of an Authentic Community Grounded in the Franciscan Tradition" in the December 2022 AFCU Journal.
