The Sisters of Charity of Nazareth will host an Open House on Friday, March 24, 2023, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. The event will be held at the Nazareth Motherhouse Campus, located in Bardstown, where the Sisters have resided since 1822.
During the visit, guests will have the opportunity to explore the Holy Grounds of Nazareth and learn about the history of the Congregation. Start by touring the beautiful and historic St. Vincent de Paul Church, admiring its architecture and peaceful atmosphere.
In O’Connell Hall, guests will find Heritage Hall, the on-site museum housing fascinating exhibits and artifacts that showcase the Sisters' legacy and mission. Also, stop by the Visitor Center to watch an informative video and learn more about the community and the Sisters’ international work.
Those interested in the Congregation's archives and record-keeping of its current and past members can visit the new Archive Center location, which formerly housed the Montessori School. The Archive Center stores a wealth of information and interesting historic items dating back centuries.
Also on the tour is an opportunity to visit the Enslavement Monument, which was recently relocated to a more prominent location in Nazareth Cemetery and honors the former slaves buried among the Sisters at Nazareth.
A shuttle service will be available to take guests around the campus and light refreshments can be enjoyed in the parlor of O'Connell Hall in-between stops.
The Sisters of Charity of Nazareth look forward to welcoming the community to experience the history and spirituality of the Sisters and the Motherhouse Campus. Don’t miss out on this exciting opportunity!
