Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur U.S. East-West Province Transition New Leadership Team

(July 18, 2024) – The Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur U.S. East-West Province (SNDdeN EW) announced its new Leadership Team, selected through a province-wide discernment process in April 2024, to fulfill the service of province governance. Members of the new team are Sisters Maria Delaney, Kathryn Keenan, Patricia O'Brien, Roberta Rzeznik and Virginia Scally, SNDdeN, who will serve for the next five years. This new Leadership Team transitioned on Friday, July 12, 2024, at a special celebration also marking the tenth anniversary of the East-West Province and the birthday of the foundress, St. Julie Billiart, who was born and baptized on July 12, 1751, in Cuvilly, France.

The SNDdeN EW Leadership Team governance exists to foster the life and mission of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur Congregation. Together with all the Sisters, the province leaders promote the unity of the Congregation and facilitate our mission of proclaiming God's goodness. The leaders also plan for the care of our members and allocate our resources for mission and ministry.

"Our new team looks to today's ministries to continue our legacy as educators and our commitment to serving those who are made poor, enabling all to know the goodness of God," said Sister Patricia O'Brien.

The community has deep gratitude for the tremendous leadership and dedication of our outgoing Leadership Team, which has served one or two terms, including through the pandemic. Sincere thanks are extended to the Sisters who are transitioning off the Leadership Team: Sister Barbara Barry, SNDdeN (since 2014), Sister Eileen Burns, SNDdeN (since 2019), Sister Patricia Chappell, SNDdeN (since 2019), Sister Mary Farren, SNDdeN (since 2014) and Sister Elaine Bain, SNDdeN (since 2019).
