Vice President for University Advancement, Marketing and Communications

The University of Providence seeks applications and nominations of outstanding candidates for the position of Vice President for University Advancement, Marketing and Communications. The successful candidate will be a seasoned advancement professional to direct the University’s institutional fund raising, enhance alumni relations and foster effective marketing, public relations and communications. The University seeks a Vice President to develop and implement a vision for Advancement that keeps pace with University’s strategic objectives, and lead the senior leadership team’s thinking on evolutions in marketing and communications, and applying them to the University.

The University of Providence is a four-year, private, Catholic liberal arts University offering both face to face and online programs, with its main campus located on 44 park-like acres in Great Falls, Montana, within driving distance to Glacier National Park and Yellowstone National Park. Founded by the Sisters of Providence in 1932, the University is a ministry of Providence Health System and continues to create academic programs to address current and future workforce needs for the healthcare system and industry as well as other needs within the larger region. The University is fully accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities, and offers 30 undergraduate and six graduate academic programs through the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences and the School of Health Professions.

The Vice President for University Advancement, Marketing and Communications (VPAMC) is a member of the University leadership team serving under the President. The VPAMC reports directly to the President and serves as a member of the President’s Council. As the chief development officer for the University, the VPAMC is directly responsible for the planning and administration of a comprehensive program of fundraising and marketing compatible with the Catholic values, mission, and objectives of the University.

The Vice President will have five direct reports and a staff that has responsibility for the foundation, alumni affairs, scholarship and stewardship, public relations and communications and will be responsible for leading and providing strategic direction for the Advancement, Marketing and Communications of the University. This will include fundraising campaigns, major gifts and planned giving, alumni relations, marketing and public relations, University development, and corporate and foundation relations.
