Carole Sargent

Carole Sargent writes about Roman Catholic sisters, especially those active in nuclear disarmament, and she is an Associate of the Sacred Heart (RSCJ). She is the author of Transform Now Plowshares: Megan Rice, Gregory Boertje-Obed, and Michael Walli (Liturgical Press), which the National Catholic Reporter reviewed in September 2022, and two books for Farrar, Straus & Giroux. With Jesuit Fr. Drew Christiansen, she co-edited the award-winning A World Free from Nuclear Weapons: The Vatican Conference on Disarmament (2020) and Forbidden: Receiving Pope Francis's Condemnation of Nuclear Weapons (2023), both from Georgetown University Press. Since 1997, she has worked at Georgetown University, where she guides faculty to research publication.
