The panel at the press conference at 11 a.m. Rome time included Cardinal Peter Turkson (president of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace), Metropolitan John Zizioulas of Pergamon (theologian representing the Ecumenical Patriarchate and the Orthodox Church), Prof. John Schellnhuber (founding director of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research and a climate-change expert, from Germany), Baltimore, Maryland-based Carolyn Woo (president of U.S. Catholic Relief Services).
