The Leadership Conference of Women Religious annual gathering – this year in Orlando, Fla. – provides an opportunity for religious congregation leaders to hear speakers and deliberate the future. It also allows them to catch up with old friends, laugh a little, share hopes and as well as disappointments.

Some conference “work” takes place during meals. Today keynote talks by Franciscan Sr. Ilia Delio didn’t allow a lot of time for lunch. So the women dashed out for quick noon meals. In the exhibit hall next door to the conference hall, the women grabbed quick boxed sandwiches and salads. Sitting at one table were, left to right: Sister of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Barbara King, Notre Dame Sisters Patricia McCarthy and Anne Leonard, (Fox), Sister of Saint Joseph of Peace Margaret Byrne, Sister of Charity (BVM) Joyce Cox and Sister of Mercy Camille D’Arienzo.
