Sr. Eileen Reilly of the School Sisters of Notre Dame talks with Sr. Maxine about her work as religious engagement associate with the Catholic Mobilizing Network, where she works on ending the death penalty and promoting restorative justice.
Women religious' efforts to abolish the death penalty are "rooted in our belief in the basic human dignity of every person," Reilly said. "We're always reminded that the right to life is from the womb to the tomb."
The death penalty, she said, is "a pretty egregious violation of that right to life."
