Sister Maxine speaks to Sr. Durstyne (Dusty) Farnan, representative to the United Nations for the Dominican Leadership Conference. As Sister Maxine explains, at the U.N. Sister Dusty "gives voice to the Dominican perspective, on issues such as homelessness, the rights of women and girls, and the impact of mining and deforestation in the Amazon region."
In this clip, Sister Dusty speaks about the influence of her parents on her own dedication to peace and justice. Her mother and father were an unusual duo. Her mother was a psychiatric nurse, while her father owned a bar.
