After 25 remarkable years ministering at Saint Luke School, Sr. Grace Augustine Canevari, OP, recently began a new ministry at St. Frances de Chantal School in the Bronx.
“Going to a new ministry after Saint Luke was going to be different, but I find my new ministry welcoming. I am pleased that I can work with children. I am very grateful to the good Lord for all of these blessings,” shared Sr. Grace.

The Sisters of St. Joseph of Concordia have long offered one-on-one spiritual direction, with the sisters and staff of Manna House of Prayer also offering directed retreats on a variety of topics.
However, the threat of Covid 19 has made most in-person meetings impossible or impractical. The sisters at Manna House quickly assessed the situation and began offering both spiritual direction and many of their retreats virtually.

While many people would describe the months passed since March as challenging, Cathy Trapp, an Associate of the Sisters of Saint Dominic of Blauvelt, New York, viewed this time as an “awakening.”
For Cathy, a mother and grandmother, these past eight months have helped her focus on aspects of life that are often taken for granted, as well as gain a deeper appreciation for community and God’s blessing, even during difficult times.

Several Associates of the Sisters of Saint of Dominic of Blauvelt joined the Sparkill Dominican Associates to participate in the Pajama Project to provide warm pairs of pajamas and books to children in need in the Hudson Valley, ages ranging from newborn to 12 years old.
The Pajama Project, whose mission is to “promote and support a comforting bedtime routine for all children to help them thrive,” provides “cozy pajamas, inspiring storybooks, and critical resources for parents and caregivers.”

To say Sr. Noreen Walsh’s ministry keeps her busy would be an understatement.
As Health Care Coordinator for the Sisters of Saint Dominic of Blauvelt, Sr. Noreen's responsibilities involve “working closely with sisters on a one to one basis.”
Sr. Noreen further explained, “I provide guidance, support, and advice to sisters with complex medical issues and navigate through medical care scenarios that involve different doctors and treatment methods.”

Last week, the Dominican Sisters in Committed Collaboration (OPSCC) announced the formation of a new Fratelli Tutti study group, open to sisters, associates, and friends of the Sisters of Saint Dominic of Blauvelt, New York.
The Fratelli Tutti study group will allow participants to virtually gather, read, and pray together throughout November, with the hope of building an understanding and commitment to relationships of respect, dignity, care, and justice.

In March, S. Barbara Schwarz found herself hospitalized from Covid-19. Even today, she continues to heal from the virus' effects on her. She, therefore, finds it delightful that, although she has been busy with "the ministry of healing", the Holy Spirit has made her look very busy as of late with various projects coming to light.
